GEN introduces Quality Assurance & Safety application.

We have introduced a mobile phone based Q&A app to manage, record and improve the quality of various stages of the works we undertake. The App makes the Q&A process quicker and more effective, it generates reports that can be issued internally and externally. Through the App we can measure common and repeating defects and implement actions to improve our performance. The App also features all of our site H&S documents & processes for swift use and instant records.

GEN Partners with NVQ provider to up skill workforce

GEN has partnered with a Kent based NVQ provider to deliver NVQ Level Two’s in Drylining finishing and fixing. Matthew Johnson, who has been with GEN from our inception, is a trained NVQ assessor and will be undertaking the assessment with all GEN operatives.

GEN pushes for ISO accreditation.

GEN has commenced the accreditation process to achieve ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001. Targeting completion by mid-2018 to demonstrate our commitment to delivery.

GEN takes safety and welfare in house

GEN management are carrying out PA testing and face fit testing across all of our sites. Dust is a serious threat to our people’s health and following the face fit testing we have updated our policy to include FFP3 masks to all workers at risk and rubber FFP3 filtered masks to our jointers.

GEN rewards good quality

Our fixer Gelu received our monthly award for consistently delivering high quality workmanship at our project in Burgess Hill for Charles Church. We reward our people based on their attitude, approach to quality, safety and a can do approach to our clients.

GEN implements simple but effective quality controls.

To improve the communication of information and control of quality on our housing sites we have created checklists to cover key aspects of the works depending on the stage of the unit. The checklists along with a keyed colour drawing for spec confirmation are placed in every working plot.  This eliminates the need for multiple drawing issues, provides instant and clear information to the operatives in the units and provides clarity on the specifications.
